The READ Lab is currently recruiting undergraduate and graduate students to assist us in exploring students needs in dual-language immersion (DLI) classroom settings.

Cognitive assessments: We are recruiting bilingual individuals who are interested in learning more about cognitive assessments, such as executive function (EF) skills as well as language assessments in Spanish, English, French, and Chinese
Quantitative data: We are recruiting undergraduate and graduate students with quantitative data analysis skills, such as knowledge of statistical software use in psychology and education (e.g., M-Plus, R, SPSS) is required. Experience or basic interest in coding is a plus.
Qualitative interviews: We are recruiting advanced undergraduate and graduate students interested in developing skills in qualitative data analyses and data collection. Interpersonal skills that are amenable to learning how to conduct semi-structured interviews are an asset. Interest and experience in analyzing qualitative data are also a plus.
Assessments
Ideal candidates would have some of the following skills based on the recruitment needs lsited above:
- Experience with elementary school-aged children or high interest in working with them.
- Willingness to learn about cognitive (language, reading, EF) skills
- Spanish fluency (preferred)
- Flexible working hours: Willingness to work from campus and not jsut telework!
- Ability to travel between your home, UMD and local schools
- Communciation and interpersonal skills to work well with diverse students, teachers, and assessors
- Research data analyses skills (qualitative and/or quantitative)
Basic Requirements

- Availability during school hours (~7:30-4:30) and willingness to work some of the time at the UMD lab or visit local schools.
Compensation
- Hourly wages commensurate with experience.
- Transportation reimbursement: (transportation to schools is necessary; carpooling is strongly encouraged)
