Project CLIMB is currently recruiting undergraduate and graduate students to assist us in researching dual-language immersion (DLI) classroom settings in DC schools.

Overview

Executive function (EF) skills are cognitive skills that we use to manage our activities as we work toward goals—like completing school assignments. The goal of Project CLIMB is to increase awareness and understanding of the benefits of bilingualism for children’s brain development— especially its impact on their EF skills. Our team will also document the key features of Dual Language Immersion programs that spur EF skills and English- Spanish biliteracy in Grades K to 5.

Assessments

To study the benefits of bilingualism and EF skills, our research team is currently offering an opportunity of:

  • Administration of researcher-developed assessments in Fall 2023
  • More opportunities may be available in the future, including conducting observations of DLI classrooms and data entry.
